  • About Me

The year of 'near gorges.......'

It could also be called the year of 'ruins; discovered and  undiscovered'
You can see from the range of photographs below that the holiday had a wide range of scenery and despite not reaching the end of any gorge and finding that so many of the ancients sites are that well hidden they just might as well have been reburied it was a great holiday. I had what I refer to as a touch of Erikitus, an addiction to taking photographs, and I find there are so many images that I am going to split them up into two 8 day weeks, one of these weeks would have had  9 days but a missed flight connection put paid to that.

Day 1: Agia Galini

Day 2: Kokkinos Pirgos, Kalamaki & Kommos the hard way

Day 3: Kalimaki and Kommos the easy way

Day 4: Triopetra

Day 5: Agia Triada & Phaistos

Day 6: Samaria Gorge (just about)

Day 7: Kommos and Kamilari

Day 8: Spili, Preveli (Monastery & Beach)
